On September 27, the Operation Center of Huaihua Sannong Industrial Park of China Co-op Group was officially opened, marking a new phase in the development and opening up of modern agriculture in the Wuling Mountain area. The opening of the center will not only inject strong momentum into the upgrading of the regional agricultural industry, but will also give full play to Huaihua’s geographical location as a hub at the junction of Hunan, Guizhou, and Guangxi. The center is designed to become a bridge for the import and export of agricultural products from the Wuling Mountain area to ASEAN countries and promote the deep integration of domestic and international dual circulations in the agricultural sector.

Huaihua Sannong Industrial Park of China Co-op Group is not only a key provincial and municipal industrial project, but also the single industrial project with the largest investment among the three core industrial parks of Huaihua International Land Port. The project covers a total land area of approximately 839 mu (55.93 hectares) and a total construction area of approximately 420,000 square meters, with a total investment of RMB2.2 billion. It is designed to promote regional industrial integration.

“Located in the hinterland of the Wuling Mountain Economic Cooperation Zone, Huaihua boasts rich ecological resources and a diverse array of featured agricultural products, including tea, Chinese medicinal materials, fruits and vegetables, and oil-tea camellia. However, many high-quality agricultural products have remained unknown to people outside the mountains for a long time, making it difficult to maximize their value.” Ma Yongxiang, General Manager of Supply and Marketing Commercial Logistics (Huaihua) Co., Ltd., told the reporter that China Co-op Group, as a state-owned enterprise that serves agriculture, rural areas and rural residents, will develop the industrial park into a modern and comprehensive service platform. By introducing leading enterprises, fostering new types of agribusiness, and establishing a network-based e-commerce platform, the group will effectively integrate regional agricultural resources, promote the standard, brand-based, and large-scale development of agricultural products, and enhance market competitiveness.

The project focuses on three core areas, namely cold chain warehousing, processing of green agricultural products, and smart logistics and distribution. It involves the development of eight dedicated functional centers, including the agricultural product trading center, agricultural supplies trading center, agricultural machinery and implements trading center, e-commerce center, warehousing and logistics center, agricultural supplies cloud warehouse center, cold chain center, and green agricultural product processing center. In the future, the project will leverage the nationwide resource network of China Co-op Group, the geographical location of the Wuling Mountain Economic Cooperation Zone, and the logistics hub of the new western land-sea corridor to build a distinctive hub-based commercial and logistics platform integrating exhibition and marketing, online and offline operation, warehousing and processing, logistics and distribution, and foreign trade services. This platform will serve the national market and reach ASEAN and Southeast Asia, playing a key role in cross-regional industrial collaboration. Upon completion, the project will play a vital role in strengthening food safety, stabilizing the prices of agricultural products, improving the supply system for people’s livelihood, and empowering rural revitalization. It will accelerate the upgrading of industries related to agriculture, rural areas, and rural residents in Huaihua from decentralized, traditional and regional development to large-scale, standardized and international development, injecting new vitality into local economic development.
