Zhijiang Industrial Development Zone has a total planned area of 5.5 square kilometers. The zone currently houses 161 enterprises, including 46 industrial enterprises above the designated size, 16 provincial high-tech enterprises, 3 provincial enterprise technology centers, 2 provincial engineering research centers, 1 national-level specialized, refined, differential and innovative “little giant” enterprise, and 7 provincial-level specialized, refined, differential and innovative “little giant” small and medium-sized enterprises. It has basically developed a distinctive electronic information industry cluster which is composed of three major sectors, namely passive electronic components, semiconductors, and optoelectronic displays. In 2019, the zone was awarded the title of Hunan Provincial Innovation and Entrepreneurship Demonstration Base and Electronic Information Public Service Platform by the Hunan Provincial Development and Reform Commission. In 2023, it was rated as a provincial-level new industrialization (electronic information industry) demonstration base and a provincial-level passive component technology transfer pilot base.
