Hongjiang High-tech Zone (Hongjiang City) was established in 2008, approved as a provincial-level industrial cluster zone in 2012, and approved as a provincial-level high-tech zone in 2019. It is the first provincial-level high-tech zone of Huaihua City to be located in a county-level city. The zone has a total planned area of 2.19 square kilometers, with 150,000 square meters of fully furnished standard apartments and supporting facilities completed and put into use. It has cultivated 31 high-tech enterprises and 12 provincial-level specialized, refined, differential, and innovative enterprises, established 5 provincial-level innovation platforms. The zone houses a total of 201 enterprises, including 92 enterprises above the designated size, and has achieved a total technical, industrial and trade revenue of 8.5 billion yuan. Currently, the zone’s industry chain is gradually improving, forming a development pattern dominated by bio-based industries, bamboo industries, green prefabricated assembly and new building materials, port-related industries, and deep processing of agricultural products.
