Zhijiang Industrial Development Zone has a total planned area of 5.5 square kilometers. There are now 161 enterprises in the development zone, including 46 industrial enterprises above the designated size, 16 provincial-level high-tech enterprises, three provincial enterprise technology centers, two provincial engineering research centers, one national “little giant” enterprise that uses special and sophisticated technologies to produce novel and unique products, and seven provincial “little giant” enterprises that use special and sophisticated technologies to produce novel and unique products. At present, a characteristic electronic information industrial cluster has taken initial shape, which mainly consists of three sectors, namely electronic components, semiconductors, and electro-optic displays. In 2019, the development zone was rated as the entrepreneurship and innovation demonstration base and electronic information public service platform in Hunan Province by the Development and Reform Commission of Hunan Province. In 2023, it was rated as a new industrialization (electronic information) industry demonstration base and pilot base for the application of advances in passive components in Hunan Province.
