Hecheng High-tech Industrial Development Zone has two major areas, namely Yangtang and Chihui, with a total planned area of 2.24 square kilometers and a built-up area of about 1.6 square kilometers. The development zone has 40 industrial enterprises above the designated size, 27 high-tech enterprises, 10 enterprises included in the Fortune 500, China 500 and top 500 private enterprise lists, eight listed enterprises, 10 national and provincial “little giant” enterprises that use special and sophisticated technologies to produce novel and unique products, one national key laboratory, one provincial entrepreneurship and innovation demonstration base, over 20 R&D institutions at the provincial level or above, and four makerspace incubators.
