Hongjiang Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone was established in 2005, with a planned area of 239.18 hectares. In 2020, it was approved as the Hongjiang Fine Chemical New Material Characteristic Industrial Base under the China Torch Program and Hunan New Industrialization Industrial Demonstration Base. The development zone is home to 21 high-tech enterprises, 14 provincial new material enterprises, one national “little giant” enterprise, 13 provincial “little giant” enterprises, one “benchmark enterprise” recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and two national green factories. It has formed an industrial pattern featuring one leading industry (chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing) and one characteristic industry (pharmaceutical manufacturing).
