Huaihua High-tech Industrial Development Zone was established in June 2003 and approved as a national-level high-tech zone in February 2018. The zone has an approved area of 10.32 square kilometers, with 7.51 square kilometers already built. It is currently the only national-level industrial park in the Wuling Mountain region. The park has formed a “two main + one special” industrial system: bio-based new materials, machinery and equipment, and pharmaceuticals and healthcare. It currently houses a number of Fortune 500 companies, including Sany Group, Chaowei Group, and Wahaha Group, as well as industry leaders such as Juntian Technology Co., Zhengqing Pharmaceuticals Co., and Chenpeng Technology Co. The park currently houses 133 operational enterprises, among which there are 89 large-scale industrial enterprises, 7 national-level innovation platforms, 51 provincial-level innovation platforms, 71 high-tech enterprises, and 27 specialized and innovative small and medium-sized enterprises. The park boasts convenient transportation and an excellent environment. It has built high-standard standardized buildings and actively established an industrial investment fund around its main and distinctive industries to carry out market-oriented investment. It has been rated as one of the top 10 parks in the province for business environment for three consecutive years.
