In 2023, there were 308 enterprises above the designated size in the new materials industrial chain, with a total output value of RMB54.8 billion and a tax revenue of RMB530 million. Leveraging its resource advantages, Huaihua has steadily developed the new materials industry over the years. Four major sectors have taken initial shape, including advanced non-ferrous metal materials, advanced chemical materials, advanced steel materials, and new building materials. The products mainly include non-ferrous metal, basic chemical raw materials, ferroalloy, refractory materials, synthetic materials and building materials. The city now operates the gold, antimony and zinc production bases in Yuanling, the new coating production base in Zhongfang, the fine chemical base in Hongjiang District, the barium salt and high carbon ferro-chrome production bases in Xinhuang, the calcium carbide production base in Chenxi, the cement production bases in Zhongfang, Jingzhou and Xupu, the industrial silicon production bases in Tongdao and Huitong, and the silica sand deep processing base and decorative granite production base in Xupu.
Key enterprises: Chenzhou Mining, Hengguang Technology, Jiuri New Material, Lambo Chemical, Shanneng Environmental Protection, Red Star (Xinhuang) Chemical, Hunan Xiangwei Co., Ltd., Shunfa Ferroalloy, and Qianyuan Aluminum.
