    In 2023, there were 6,000 logistics-related enterprises and 855 wholesale, retail, accommodation and catering enterprises above the designated size in Huaihua. The ratio of total social logistics costs to GDP dropped to 14.9%, and social logistics costs per GDP has been declining year by year. Huaihua has 57 specialized markets and freight stations, storage facilities with a total area of 1.2 million square meters, and cold storage building with a storage capacity of 365,000 tons. The city is also constructing new cold storage buildings, with a storage capacity of 354,000 tons. The commercial and logistics industry has offered jobs to about 798,000 people. It has emerged as a leading industry in Huaihua. In 2023, the city’s total retail sales of consumer goods reached RMB76,929 million, a year-on-year increase of 9.2%. Its growth rate ranked second in Hunan Province, surpassing the national and provincial growth rate by 2 and 3.1 percentage points, respectively.

    In recent years, the city has won such titles as the national logistics hub for commercial services, national multimodal transport demonstration project, and national key cold chain logistics base. The People’s Government of Hunan Province has positioned Huaihua as a gateway city aligning with the strategy of building the new western land-sea corridor as well as an ASEAN freight assembly center and given strong support. With the diversified development of Wanda, BBK, Huashengtang, Jinxiu Wuxi and other large-scale commercial complexes, commercial business forms have been continuously enriched and integrated.

    Key enterprises: Jiahui Group, Huinong Logistics, Huairen Pharmaceutical, Anli Distribution, and Yiyatong Logistics.

    Development priorities: Going all out to build Huaihua International Land Port into a characteristic land port that offers cold chain logistics services, and proactively introducing strategic logistics enterprises and specialized marketing, warehousing and logistics enterprises; moving faster to develop the multimodal transport center, Joy Speed intelligent cold chain center, SF secondary distribution center and other key projects; stepping up the development of the cross-border e-commerce industrial park in Huaihua International Land Port Economic Development Zone, and applying for developing the comprehensive cross-border e-commerce pilot area; and facilitating the development of the pilot 15-minute community life circle.
