Huaihua boasts the most diverse and richest clean energy resources in Hunan Province. In terms of resource reserves, the city stands at the forefront of Hunan Province for its wind energy and PV resources. Specifically, the theoretical reserves of wind energy resources are 39.20 million kilowatts, 10.50 million kilowatts of which are exploitable according to the preliminary resource survey; the theoretical reserves of PV resources are 150 million kilowatts. In terms of the incorporation of wind power and PV into planning, 55 centralized wind power projects and seven centralized PV projects are included in the first batch of development projects under the 14th Five-Year Plan of Hunan Province, with a total installed capacity of 3,877,400 kilowatts and 560,000 kilowatts, respectively. In terms of development and application, the installed capacity of wind power is 965,400 kilowatts, accounting for 9.93% of the total installed capacity of Hunan Province. The installed capacity of centralized PV is 197,800 kilowatts. 256 distributed PV projects have been registered, and 1,429 households have registered household PV for natural persons. Energy storage facilities have been developed, with a capacity of 110,000 kilowatts. 226 public charging stations, 1,292 DC fast charging piles and 2,835 AC charging piles for residential use have been built.
Key enterprises: China Power, Datang Huayin, Hunan Chilwee, Huaihua Jiongcheng, and Huaihua Helishi.
