(Mobile Huaihua) The reporters learned from Huaihua Bureau of Commerce that in January and February of this year, Huaihua registered a total import and export volume of RMB973 million, a year-on-year increase of 266.5%, ranking first in the province in terms of growth rate. Specifically, the export volume recorded RMB896 million, a year-on-year increase of 544.8%. Across the city, 51 enterprises managed to break even in foreign trade, accounting for 62.9% of the foreign trade enterprises in Huaihua. The city’s top three trading partners, ASEAN, Africa and the European Union, saw a year-on-year increase of 2032.7%, 619.4% and 226.4% in import and export volume, respectively.

Since the beginning of the year, Huaihua has made continuous efforts to attract production-oriented foreign trade enterprises and trade-oriented foreign trade enterprises and actively undertaken industries transferred from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Yangtze River Delta and other key areas, going all out to support foreign trade enterprises in breaking even and doubling their profits. Relying on the policy and institutional advantages of China (Hunan) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the city has established the high-level Huaihua Collaboration Area of the free trade zone and actively applied for recognition as a county-level foreign trade characteristic industrial cluster demonstration base. The city has continuously increased the imports of cassava, grain, fruit and other key products, so as to boast the performance of foreign trade enterprises. The city has made proactive preparations for the RCEP Hunan (Huaihua) Economic and Trade Expo and guided enterprises to participate in the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, China International Import Expo, Canton Fair and other economic and trade activities, helping enterprises to explore the diversified international markets. The city has also given support to foreign trade enterprises, implemented national, provincial and municipal policies and measures on advancing foreign trade, and stepped up financial support for these enterprises.

It is learned that in 2023, Huaihua will strive to undertake more than 35 foreign trade transfer projects, increase its foreign trade volume by over RMB3 billion, develop two foreign trade industries with a scale of over RMB1 billion and five foreign trade industries with a scale of over RMB500 million, and help more than 10 enterprises to recover an import and export volume of over RMB500 million.
