Xupu Goose is one of China’s excellent poultry breeds, characterized by its large size, rapid growth, low feed consumption, strong adaptability, and flavorful meat. Primarily herbivorous, these geese have strong foraging abilities and prefer warm water and sunlight, thriving in well-ventilated environments rich in aquatic plants.

This breed has a slightly elongated, robust, and large body, presenting a cylindrical shape. The feathers come in two colors: white and gray. The meat is delicious, rich but not greasy, and has always been favored by people. As early as the 1980s, Xupu Goose was recognized as the best breed for producing fatty liver among all geese in the country, with nearly reaching the top-grade standard of 600 grams. The largest recorded fatty liver from a single goose weighed 1500 grams, leading experts to refer to the Xupu Goose as the “King of Geese”.

The fatty liver contains up to 68 grams of unsaturated fatty acids and 4.5-7 grams of lecithin per 100 grams, with nucleic acids and enzyme activity levels higher than those in other foods. Not only is it a delicacy with a delicate texture and unique flavor, but it is also an excellent nutritional product. Among the vast array of foods available to humanity, goose liver is ranked alongside caviar and truffles as one of the world’s three great delicacies. Since 1974, Xupu Goose has been exported to Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and various countries in Europe and America.
