Baotian tea is a specialty of Baotian Township in Huitong County. Known for its "rich aroma and sweet aftertaste”, the tea is highly favored by consumers, winning a gold medal at the provincial tea expo.

In 1972, the first large-scale tea garden in Huitong County was established in Baotian, and by 1974, the area of the tea garden expanded to 2,000 mu (about 133 hectares). The core of this tea garden is Yanyingpo, a place renowned for its folk songs passed down through generations. Located at an altitude of over 840 meters, this region enjoys a cool and pleasant climate, abundant rainfall, deep soil layers with a slightly acidic pH, and over 100 foggy days each year. Additionally, there is no atmospheric or geological pollution within nearly 50 kilometers. Currently, tea cultivation is one of the key projects for comprehensive agricultural development in Huitong County. The area of organic tea gardens has surpassed 6,000 mu (400 hectares), increasing by 3,000 mu (200 hectares) annually. Tea sales are thriving, with products reaching markets in Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Gansu.
