    The breeding history of Xuefeng black-boned chicken is over 1,000 years. In 1984, it was named “Qianyang Xuefeng Black-Boned Chicken” by relevant provincial department.

    The Xuefeng black-bone chicken is a local specialty, which is noted for its taste and nutritional quality. The black-boned chickens are raising in the foothills of the Xuefeng Mountain. According to Beijing Nutrient Source Research Institute, Xuefeng black-boned chicken has a lot of medicinal and food values and is filled with high-quality proteins and contains more than ten kinds of amino acids. Therefore, the meat of Xuefeng black-boned chicken is recommended for consumption by all age groups. 

    Breeding stock, chicks, and eggs are not only sold throughout the various counties of Huaihua and 14 other cities in the province, but also exported to provinces and cities such as Guizhou, Sichuan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hubei, Beijing, Shanghai, and Chongqing, making them highly sought after in both domestic and international markets.
