Tuokou waxberry is characterized by its large fruits, bright color, and a balanced sweet and sour taste. Fruits ripen in mid-June and are be harvested within 10-15 days. Tuokou waxberry is suitable for fresh eating and canning.

The planting area of Tuokou waxberry totals 10,000 mu (about 667 hectares), among which the planting area of Dongkui waxberry at Tuokou Town is 6,800 mu (about 453 hectares) with an annual output of 3,400 tons. Anjiang Town and Chatou Town also have a small planting area of Dongkui waxberry.
