The breeding history of Xuefeng black-boned chicken is over 1,000 years. In 1984, it was named “Qianyang Xuefeng Black-Boned Chicken” by relevant provincial department.
The Xuefeng black-bone chicken is a local specialty, which is noted for its taste and nutritional qualtiy. The black-boned chickens are raising in the foothills of the Xuefeng Mountain. According to Beijing Nutrient Source Research Institute, Xuefeng black-boned chicken has a lot of medicinal and food values and is filled with high-quality proteins and contains more than ten kinds of amino acids. Therefore, the meat of Xuefeng black-boned chicken is recommended for consumption by all age groups.
Breeders and breeding eggs of Xuefeng black-boned chicken and other related commodities are sold outside Huaihua to other provinces such as Guizhou, Sichuan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hubei, Beijing and Shanghai.
