Ming Mountain, bordering Wushi Mountain and Xishuang Mountain, is located 10 kilometers north of Zhijiang County with the main peak 1008.2 meters above sea level. Ming Mountain boasts of a beautiful natural scenery filled with peaks, valleys and woods. It distinguishes itself with many historic remains left by men of letters in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. With its natural and cultural charms, the mountain is listed as one of the “Eight Scenes of Ancient Yuanzhou”. Zhenwu Hall (a temple built to worship Zhenwu God) is at the top of the mountain. Every year, the temple will hold grand ceremonies to celebrate Emperor Zhenwu’s birthday on March 3 of the Chinese Lunar Calendar with tens of thousands of pilgrims journeying to the mountain.
