Terraces of Chinese Yao Minority are located in the Mountainback Village of Xupu County in Hunan Province. Majestic and magnificent as it is, the main scenic spot of Yao Terrace covers with an area of more than 60, 000 mu and stretches for 8 kilometers with more than 1000 stacked levels from a valley of 300 meters above sea level to a peak of 1400 meters above sea level. Yao Terraces are the most eye-catching cultural landscape. The wedding customs such as mud-playing engagement, buttocks-sitting games, matchmaker-amusing farce and so on are romantic, crazy and grotesque, which completely retain the legacy of the matriarchal clan era in its primitive society."Yao picks Flowers" is listed as the first batch of the national intangible cultural heritage for its simplicity, uniqueness, exquisiteness and gorgeousness. The scenic area has a high-grade residential "Starry Cloud House", which allows you to watch the beautiful terraces and sea of clouds.

You can visit Yao terrace by the high-speed train and have a good view on the terraces on the ropeway. The scenic spot is only 20 kilometers away from Xupu South Station of Shanghai-Kunming High-speed Railway, and 40 kilometers from Shanghai-Kunming Highway, and 50 kilometers from Xupu entrance of Louhuai Highway.
