A beautiful dam featuring a fish scale pattern spans across the Jinjiang River in the county seat. The shimmering dam and the beautiful scenery along the close-to-water sightseeing trail have attracted many visitors.

The fish scale dam, also known as the fish scale-shaped overflow dam, newly built on the Jinjiang River, is 37 meters long with a maximum dam height of 4.2 meters. It is part of the water ecology improvement and comprehensive utilization project (barrage project) in Mayang County.

The dam features seven levels of arc-shaped steps, each with a drop of approximately 50 centimeters, arranged in an alternating pattern. Under the reflection of the river’s flow, the fish scales resemble the back of a large fish striving upstream.
