Jinlong Mountain is situated in the northeast of Huitong County, with its main peak reaching an altitude of 1,075 meters. It is named after the legend of Prince Jinlong and was historically known as one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Huitong. Surrounded by the towns of Ma'an, Baozi, and Jinzhu, the mountain is encircled by mountains that resemble a flying dragon. At sunset, its rugged and verdant landscape is especially enchanting. On the main peak, known as Baota Mountain, stands a stone octagonal tower called the “Golden Dragon Crown”. Constructed in the 45th year of Emperor Kangxi's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1656), the tower is approximately 13 meters tall and has a diameter of 5 meters. It has no internal floors and windows, with only a stone doorway for entry and exit. Inside the tower, there is a wooden palace dedicated to Prince Jinlong, supported by large wooden pillars. Jinlong Mountain is lush with bamboo and trees, and its spring water is refreshing and is the source of the Huitong River. In spring, visitors may enjoy flower-viewing trips; in summer, they may seek refuge from the heat on the mountain; in autumn, they may admire red maple leaves and pick wild fruits; in winter, they may enjoy snowy landscapes and dig bamboo shoots. The four seasons have distinct characteristics, making Jinlong Mountain an ecological oasis that integrates sightseeing, leisure, and experiential activities.
