Yingzuijie National Nature Reserve is located in the southeastern part of Huitong County and in the southern section of the western branch of the Xuefeng Mountains. It was approved as a provincial nature reserve in 2000 and a national nature reserve in 2006. Its total area is 15,900 hectares with a width of about 10.6 kilometers from east to west and a length of about 24 kilometers from north to south, covering 18 villages in five townships of Tuanhe, Ruishui, Shaxi, Shaxi and Yantou. Boasting of natural landscapes filled with mountains, ravines and streams, the nature reserve is about 35 kilometers away from Huitong County with convenient transport links. Its average altitude is between 200-800 meters, and the main peak, Eagle’s Mouth, is 856 meters above sea level, which is surrounded by clouds and mists all year round. The reserve is rich in biological resources, with 759 species of 405 genera in 162 families of plants and 139 species of 65 genera in 27 families under 8 orders of animals. Having well preserved subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forests, it owns 26 species of national protected plants, and one kind among them is the first-class national protected plants; 41kinds of national protected wild animals, among which three kinds are the first-class national protected animals. Filled with as an astonishing array of geologic wonders, Yingzuijie is known with the following outstanding features – densely wooded forests, wildlife sanctuary, and spectacular sights.
