    Qingjianghu Wetland Park

    Qingjianghu Wetland Park is located in the southwest of Hongjiang County-level City, with Qingjiang Lake as its main feature and the highway surrounding the lake as its boundary. It covers a total area of 3,032 hectares, nearly 2,500 hectares of which is wetland. The wetland park is planned to be developed into five functional zones: Wetland Conservation Zone, Wetland Restoration and Reconstruction Zone, Wetland Education and Exhibition Zone, Rational Utilization Zone, and Management and Service Zone.

    In the national ecological preservation plan, Qingjianghu Wetland Park is designated as a typical subtropical biodiversity conservation area, serving as a functional zone for soil and water conservation, water source conservation, and ecological security barrier in the Yangtze River basin. The construction of the wetland park is also one of the key components in the development of the Ecological and Cultural Tourism Circle in Western Hunan, which holds significant meaning for promoting wetland culture and building an ecological civilization.

    The wetland park is situated at the junction of the Yuanshui River and Qushui River. It boasts abundant water resources and a rich biodiversity. There are 815 species of vascular plants belonging to 535 genera and 161 families, among which 235 species are wetland plants belonging to 182 genera and 77 families, including 6 species listed as second-grade national key protected plants. The wetland is currently home to 199 species of wild vertebrates belonging to 74 families, 27 orders, and 5 classes, including 40 species of fish belonging to 9 families and 4 orders, and 102 species of birds belonging to 38 families and 13 orders. Among them, there are 10 species listed as second-grade national key protected animals and 18 species listed in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
