Tianwen Island covers an area of 152 mu (about 10 hectares). Formerly the site of Huaihua Xiangwei Factory, it preserves industrial heritage dating back to the 1960s–1990s. Through ecological restoration and cultural empowerment, 10 idle buildings on the island were renovated and upgraded to create 8 themed spaces. Derelict industrial premises have been transformed into an immersive culture-themed park. At the Quest Square, visitors can picture the scene 2,300 years ago when Qu Yuan, the great patriotic poet, traveled upstream along rivers and wandered verses across the Five Streams region. Inside the Ceramics Museum, one can trace the Gaomiao white pottery with a history of 7,800 years. Tourist attractions on Tianwen Island include Lanwan Tavern, Quzi Cultural Research and Study Base, Vanilla Workshop, Jiuge Impression Xiake Travel Photography, Wonderland of Nine Songs, Intangible Cultural Heritage and Cultural Creation Space of Deep Mountain Market, Canglang Pavilion, Sanlü Academy, Dragon Boat Stand and Qu Yuan Sculpture. Nestled at the confluence of the Taiping Stream and Wushui River, Tianwen Island faces the ASEAN Complex to the west, borders Yushuwan in the east, and stands backed by the Land Port Bridge. Shaped much like the front carriage of the Fuxing bullet train, it embodies Huaihua’s bold, open posture as it strides toward the future.
