Zhongpo Mountain, located in the northwest corner of downtown Huaihua, is a continuous mountain range of 3.79 kilometers long from east to west and 3.72 kilometers wide from north to south. The hills here are (dangerously) steep, with wide view and dense forest. It is an ideal place for citizens to relax and exercise because of its advantages/superiority of tourism and position. On the morning of the first day of every lunar new year (On the morning of the lunar New Year’s Day), citizens often climb it to pick up firewood to win a good start for the new year.
In the past year, we have had bird’s-eye views from UAV to record the amazing landscapes of the hills in different seasons, which creates charming scenery, such as colorful flowers competing for spring, green leaves embracing summer, red leaves welcoming autumn, and green cypresses accompanying winter.
Zhongpo Mountain, covering a total area of 1688 hectares, enjoys comfortable subtropical monsoon humid climate featuring four distinct seasons, mild climate, abundant precipitation, full sunshine and long frost-free period, suitable for the growth of a variety of plants. In addition, it lies in the transition zone from Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau to the hilly south of the Yangtze River, full of species of different regions, constituting biodiversity, species diversity, and gene diversity. The forest coverage rate reaches 97%. In December 2002, it was approved as a National Forest Park by the Forestry Administration Department. With crisscross valleys, gurgling streams, colorful forest landscapes, and fresh and pleasant air, it is an urban ecological forest park integrating forest resource protection and forestry research with forest tourism.
The Wanghuai Pavilion on the Qiongding Summit is the best place to gaze into the distance, from which you can get a panoramic view of the ever-changing Huaihua City: surrounded by green mountains and clear rivers, with birds singing and flowers blossoming, quiet and beautiful.
