Recently, the Hunan Red Solar Photoelectricity Science and Technology Co., Ltd. (Hunan Red Solar), a subsidiary of the China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC), successfully secured a bid for a high-efficiency photovoltaic cell project in the Middle East with a contract value of nearly 300 million CNY. This achievement marks a significant breakthrough in the company's implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative and its efforts to promote China's high-end manufacturing equipment to go global. It also signifies that Hunan's photovoltaic industry has entered a new stage of global expansion.

As a key platform for implementing CETC's "going global" strategy, Hunan Red Solar has accelerated its global expansion through a core business model integrating equipment, process and service. In September 2021, the first phase of the 500MW vertically integrated photovoltaic project of Türkiye's Kalyon Group, constructed by the company, was delivered. The project covers the entire industrial chain—from crystal pulling and wafering to cell production and module assembly—setting a record as the first overseas full-chain photovoltaic equipment project for Hunan Province and the first of its kind in Türkiye.

Following the completion of the second and third phases, the project's total capacity has been increased to 2GW, boosting Türkiye's overall photovoltaic production capacity by approximately 10%. The recent success in securing this nearly 300-million-CNY contract in the Middle East builds directly upon the proven experience gained from the Turkish project, representing a significant new leap in the "going global" process of China's high-end equipment.
Hunan Red Solar's rapid development can be attributed to Hunan Province's continuously improving innovation ecosystem. Since 2022, Hunan has piloted an open competition mechanism for manufacturing, precisely aligning high-quality innovation resources with key advanced manufacturing sectors, thus injecting strong momentum into the innovative development of enterprises.
