The Changsha Customs Authority announced on May 19 that, Hunan exported rail transit equipment valued at 480 million CNY in the first four months this year, increasing by 46% year on year.
Hunan's exports of rail transit equipment is mainly divided into three categories: parts for railway or tramway locomotives, with an export value of 130 million CNY; battery-powered electric locomotives, with an export value of 78.926 million CNY, marking a 9.4-fold surge; and, fixed devices and parts for railway and tramway tracks, with an export value of 75.52 million CNY, rising 150%.
Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, and Germany are the top three trading partners of Hunan Province, while exports to the Belt and Road countries soaring rapidly. Specifically, exports to Hong Kong reached 120 million CNY, making a 3.3-fold increase; exports to Kazakhstan skyrocketed by 41.5 times to 57.768 million CNY; and, exports to Germany saw robust growth, climbing 52.2% to 57.555 million CNY.
Manufacturing enterprises were major exporters. They contributed 400 million CNY in exports, with an increase of 30.1% and accounting for 82.5% of the total rail transit equipment exports of the province. Exports of trading companies amounted to 84.206 million CNY, rising 250% and accounting for 17.5% of the provincial total. Leading enterprises, such as CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. and Zhuzhou Times New Material Technology Co., Ltd., played a pivotal role with their export values growing by 54.4% and 19.2% respectively.
Regionally, Zhuzhou City remained the cornerstone of Hunan's rail transit equipment industry. In the first four months, Zhuzhou exported 450 million CNY of rail transit equipment, marking a 49.2% increase year on year and taking up 92.3% of the provincial total. Changsha's exports in this sector rose 52.9% to 32.929 million CNY.
