The Patent Protection Association of China recently released a list of the patent-intensive products for 2024.
Seventy-five enterprises from Hunan were involved, with their 132 products recognized as patent-intensive, covering 1,966 relevant patents. The number of the recognized products, related patents, and enterprises increased by 42%, 63%, and 36% respectively. Multiple emerging industries with strategic significance have been involved, such as high-end manufacturing, new materials, biological medicine, and new-generation information technology.
In recent years, Hunan has been making vigorous efforts to boost filing and registration of patent-intensive products. The filing of patented products has become a critical criterion for enterprises seeking to apply for intellectual property (IP) financing projects. The regional number of patented product registrations has been taken as an indicator to evaluate the business environment, as well as a work objective of Hunan Province to implement the patent transformation and application plan. Publicity and trainings on patent-intensive product filing and registration have been launched in various forms.
According to the data on the national pilot platform for patent-intensive product filling and registration, as of February 10, Hunan has 3,841 registered patented products and 1,184 registered enterprises. The sales volume and export value of the registered products amounted to 267.1 billion CNY and 21.1 billion CNY respectively in 2024.
