On August 18, Huitong Dazhuang Bamboo Deep‑processing Project reached a key construction milestone. Located in Lianshan Industrial Park, the project is now pressing ahead with equipment commissioning and launching trial production, injecting fresh strong momentum into the transformation and upgrading of Huitong’s bamboo industry.
Sited in Lianshan Industrial Park, the project boasts a total investment of 1 billion yuan. Its first‑phase investment stands at 500 million yuan. Covering a land area of about 13 hectares, it plans for roughly 70,000 square meters of building floor space. The project entails six bamboo‑processing workshops, an R&D complex building and a full array of supporting facilities, with each workshop assigned well‑defined functions.
“The project mainly manufactures functional products such as bamboo glulam and reconstituted bamboo. Equipment commissioning and trial production kicked off in August 2026. The first‑phase investment of 500 million yuan will be completed within the year, with 20 production lines installed and construction of Phase II initiated,” Jin Min, general manager of Hunan Dazhuang Bamboo Industry Co., Ltd., told the reporter.
Huitong is endowed with abundant moso bamboo resources, enjoying unique natural conditions for growing its bamboo industry. Rooted in this locality, Huitong Dazhuang Bamboo Industry Co., Ltd. focuses on deep‑processing of bamboo materials and has built a circular production system featuring full resource utilization and a complete industrial chain. A single moso bamboo goes through multiple processing procedures to unlock its full value, making the most of every part of the raw material. The delivery and construction of the project not only boost quality‑oriented and accelerated growth of the local bamboo sector, but also open new avenues for local residents to increase their income.
“Upon full operation, the project can generate an annual output value of over 300 million yuan, with foreign trade exports exceeding 100 million yuan. It will create more than 400 jobs, benefit over 5,000 forest‑farming households, and foster high‑quality development of both the bamboo industry and the private economy,” said Jin Min.
The bamboo industry is a characteristic sector prioritized for cultivation and expansion in Huitong. In recent years, Huitong has rolled down pragmatic measures including improving bamboo‑forest quality and efficiency, upgrading forest‑zone infrastructure, stepping‑up investment promotion, and building sound industrial development platforms.
