Mayang sees picturesque scenery in the spring, with rapeseed flowers blooming in the field. On March 7th, Buyunping Village in Longjiabao Township, Mayang Miao Autonomous County, reached the most romantic moment of the year. Over a thousand acres of rapeseed flowers were in full bloom, painting the banks of the Jin River with golden hues and transforming the scene into a grand natural stage to greet visitors from all directions.
I. Giant Chinese character patterns in the flowery fields present great surprise to the tourists
Entering the village of Bujunping, one feels as if stepping into an oil painting. The waves of yellow flower surge, harmonizing with the distant green mountains and the emerald waters of the Jin River. The most striking sight is the giant Chinese characters “Cheng Feng Po Lang”, meaning “Braving the wind and waves”, formed by colorful rapeseed flower in the fields. These four characters stand out vividly in the drizzling rain, embodying the indomitable spirit of the local people while serving as the perfect backdrop for tourists to capture their photos.
Although the weather was not so fine, with continuous spring rain falling, the tourists' interest was instead fully aroused by the misty and dreamy atmosphere. They wandered through the field paths with umbrellas, where glistening raindrops clung to the petals, adding a touch of liveliness and delicacy to the sea of flowers.
II. Poetic charm is filled in the field with writers and tourists enjoying the flower together
This grand spring event not only boasts beautiful scenery, but also exudes a literary and poetic charm. More than 40 members of the Writers Association of Mayang Miao Autonomous County came to the fields, strolling among the flowers, bending down to lightly smell the fragrance, and spontaneously composing poems.
“The golden rapeseed flower of Buyunpun is the lover of us... ", Zhang Tiegang and Lei Qiongying's passionate recitation echoed over the flowery field, attracting tourists to stop and listen. Zeng Lixia, a local writer, proudly recommended her hometown to the visitors: “The sea of flowers this year is particularly magnificent, especially in the drizzle with flowers coupled with the colorful houses and green mountains and waters in our village, making this place a fairy land.
III. Folk customs are innovative with dragon boat racing and appetizing rice cakes
The sea of flowers in the field is romantic, yet the Jinjiang River is filled with joy. The female writers of the county and the female cadres of the villages had unique dragon boat race on the Jinjiang River. The sound of trumpets, cheers, and laughter echoed one after another, presenting the heroic posture of women in the new era.
The experience area on the bank is also bustling with folk activities: making rice cakes and eating local unique food, showcasing the simple but happy life of the people of Mayang county.

Small as it is, a rapeseed flower connects the scenery, culture, and industry of Mayang county. In recent years, relying on the ecological advantages of Buyunpung Village in Longjiapu Township, Mayang has closely integrated the "flower appreciation economy" with local Miao culture and traditional village protection through the way of "meeting friends through festivals by taking flowers as a medium".
Flower appreciation in the field not only releases pressure for tourists in the poetic countryside, but also brings tangible benefits to the local villagers. Through the integration of agriculture, culture, and tourism, ordinary farmland has become a scenic spot that attracts tourists from all directions, driving the traditional agricultural villages gradually moving towards a model of rural revitalization with prosperous industries and livable ecology.
