On the evening of November 3, the closing ceremony of the Seventh Huaihua City Games concluded successfully at the basketball gymnasium of the Huaihua Sports Center after the much‑anticipated final of the men’s basketball tournament. Vice Mayor Xiang Rulian attended.
The event announced the results of the men’s basketball competition and the recipients of the “Sportsmanship Award,” read out the lists of gold‑medal winners and the delegations placing in the top eight of the overall team standings, and presented awards on site to the winning athletes and units.

This year’s Games were fiercely contested and yielded rich results. The delegations from Xinhuang County, Zhongfang County and Hongjiang District won the “Sportsmanship Award”; the delegations from Hecheng, Hongjiang, Xupu, Yuanling, Zhijiang, Jingzhou, Tongdao and Huitong placed among the top eight in overall team scores; and the delegations from Hecheng, Hongjiang, Xupu, Zhijiang, Tongdao, Yuanling, Huitong and Chenxi ranked among the top eight in total gold medals.

The Games opened on October 29 and featured 21 major sports and 388 events, divided into junior and senior divisions. The junior division included 12 sports: basketball, football, table tennis, badminton, track and field, swimming, weightlifting, wrestling, taekwondo, wushu, boxing and street dance; while the senior division featured nine sports: basketball, football, sitting volleyball, table tennis, badminton, swimming, tai chi, line dance and gateball. A total of 3,384 athletes from counties, county‑level cities and districts across the city poured out their passion and pursued their dreams on the field, delivering an exciting event for the people of Huaihua.
