On the morning of September 20, Xu Zhongjian, Secretary of the CPC Huaihua Municipal Committee, presided over a special meeting on the service guarantees for tourism market during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday. He emphasized that it is of necessity to thoroughly study and put into practice Xi Jinping thought on culture and General Secretary Xi Jinping’s keynote speech on tourism development, carefully carry out the vision made at the 5th Hunan Tourism Development Conference, and advance the follow-up work initiated at the Tourism Development Conference by attracting tourists to come to Huaihua with high-quality services.

At the meeting, reports on the relevant work were reviewed, and specific measures were discussed and formulated.

Xu Zhongjian pointed out that National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival coincide this year, the first extended holiday period since the 5th Hunan Tourism Development Conference was successfully hosted in our city, which will usher in a peak in tourist arrivals. All relevant departments at various levels across Huaihua should work to ensure tourism market services with heart and soul during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival period, so as to continue promoting the effects of “hosting the conferences to invigorate the city, to develop businesses, and to benefit the people.”

Xu Zhongjian emphasized that all departments at various levels across the entire region should make coordinated efforts to actively involve themselves into the “Greater International Zhangjiajie Tourism Zone.” Targeted promotional campaigns should be launched to boost tourism, and precise measures must be taken to attract more tourists to Huaihua, energizing the local tourism market. Full preparations must be made to formulate feasible contingency plans for the coming tourists.

The supervision of the tourism market must be strengthened, special joint law enforcement operations must be carried out, the mechanisms for a rapid response, handling, and feedback for tourist complaints must be refined and delivered, and the illegal activities such as price gouging and tourist scams must be severely punished in accordance with the law.

The transportation support for tourism must be strengthened by optimizing traffic management and guidance in urban and scenic areas, implementing flexible enforcement and supervision of tourist vehicles, and ensuring safe and smooth travel for visitors. The maintenance of environment and order must be enhanced by optimizing the layout of vendor stalls and keeping urban and scenic areas clean and tidy, providing tourists with a better experience.

Management for tourist safety must be strengthened by thoroughly conducting a comprehensive inspection of workplace safety and identifying hidden dangers across the entire industry, including reception venues, recreational facilities, tourist vehicles, boats and others, firmly ensuring that the bottom line for safety must be kept. High-quality services must be required to draw visitors to Huaihua and the brand of “Huaihua— a blessed place where you feel at home” must be more popular to create a warm, caring, secure, and comfortable environment for tourists, providing them with high-value emotional experiences.

Specific security arrangements for the concert named “Lotus Blooms in  Huaihua— a Blessed Place” was also made at the meeting.

Municipal leaders Li Weilin, Hu Chen, Xiang Rulian and Zeng Wenqian attended the meeting.
