On the morning of May 17, Li Chunqiu, deputy secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, investigated the urban renewal. He stressed that it is necessary to stick to the ideas of people-centered development philosophy, the moderate forwarding thinking and being economical and intensive in buildingfriendly Huaihua, the purpose of which is to enhance the people’s sense of well-being. Li Shizhong, secretary general of the municipal government, attended the investigation.
Li Chunqiu came to the site for the progress of the reconstruction and expansion project of the Shuntian Bridge and the Renda Bridge on the East Huancheng Road, the construction project of WestRenmin Road, and the renovation project in the run-down areas of Xixing Street in the central part of the city and listened to the reports relevant to the projects, with a view tolearning in detail about the planning and design of the projects as well as the existing problems and blocking points of the projects.
In the investigation, Li Chunqiu demanded that relevant projects should be planned and built in advance to a certain extent to meet the needs of the development of the city in the future. It is necessary to economize on the intensive use of funds and land, and reasonably plan the urbantraffic infrastructures by optimizing the design plan.Urban public facilities should gratify the demands of citizens, and we will build Huaihua into a friendly city, thus enhancing citizens’sense of well-being. The construction of urban public facilities should be in accordance with the concept of one facility with multiple capacities or uses, and Huaihua will be built into an economic city in a low cost according to the stage of urban development. When boosting the construction of various projects for the urban renewal with high quality and efficiency, we must adopt the holistic thinking, bolster planning and guidance and strengthen overall planning and coordination.
