Prioritize education development to deliver education satisfying the people
On the morning of September 30, Gao Jingsheng, deputy secretary of the Huaihua Municipal Party Committee and Acting Mayor, conducted a special investigation into education work. He stressed the need to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on education, give priority to education development, effectively improve education and teaching quality, and strive to provide education that satisfies the people. Xiang Rulian, vice mayor, and Lin Hua, secretary general of the Huaihua Municipal Government,attended the event.
Gao visited Junyong Experimental School, Hongyu Primary School and Huaihua No.3 Middle School successively to gain detailed insight into these schools: running features and faculties, and conducted thorough inspections on food safety in school canteens. At the forum, the Municipal Education Bureau reported on the education situation citywide. Relevant municipal government departments put forward proposals for follow-up work concerning specific issues requiring coordination and resolution.
After listening to the remarks made by participants, Gao pointed out that education is a foundational undertaking that will yield long term benefits. Strict management shall be enforced to further standardize internal administration of educational authorities, the teaching workforce and teaching management, and strengthen the development of school leadership teams and cadres within the education system.
Efforts shall be made to improve quality. Focusing on high-quality development of education, we should foster a sound orientation for talent cultivation, and steadily raise the teaching standards of primary, secondary and vocational education.
Governance needs to be enhanced to effectively boost the intrinsic safety level of campuses and firmly uphold the bottom line of security and stability in the education sector.
Joint efforts should be pooled to optimize the environment for educational development. Education shall be given priority in development planning, financial investment and resource allocation. Multiple measures will be adopted to reduce teachers’ workload, and strong efforts will be made to foster a social atmosphere of respecting teachers and valuing education.
