On October 18, Wei Zhaohui, secretary of Huaihua Municipal Party Committee, inspected the preparations for the Fifth Huaihua Municipal Tourism Development Conference in Chenxi, emphasizing the need to thoroughly study and implement President Xi Jinping’s important directives on tourism development, as well as his significant speeches and instructions regarding Hunan’s work. In addition, she stressed the importance of fully adhering to the requirements of Hunan Provincial Party Committee and Hunan Provincial Government with the principles of simplicity, excellence, practicality, and safety in organizing the conference. By striving for perfection and flawlessness, we should spare no efforts to create a distinctive cultural and tourism extravaganza.
Wei visited respectively the Visitor Center of the 1938 Xiaoping Military Industry Camp, the Rice Field Fish-Farming Park, the Cave Coffee House, the Centennial Military Industry Museum, the Xiangxi Anti-Banditry Project, the Homestay in Central Village, the Homestay in Patriotic Village, the Science and Technology Club of Military Industry, the Xikou Village of Shixi Township, the Zhonghua Book Cave, and the Dayou Academy, etc., in Xiaoping Town, Chenxi County, to gain a detailed understanding of the construction progress, business layout, scene creation, and operational preparation of each scenic spot. She also visited the Zhongnanmen Market to inspect the urban renewal and transformation as well as the construction of the night economy commercial district.
During her inspection, Wei pointed out that the Municipal Tourism Development Conference has entered the final run-up stage, with tight time, heavy tasks, and high requirements. To finish all the projects as scheduled, we need to reorganize, optimize, and improve various preparatory work like polishing an article. She required that the 1938 Xiaoping Military Industry Camp should be planned and constructed to be a high-level tourist attraction in accordance with the national 5A level tourist attraction standards; Distinctive activities should be planed in the Rice Field Fish-Farming Park that combine fun elements such as rice field fishing, farming experiences, and countryside shows, to make the scenes come alive and lively; The Xiangxi Anti Banditry Project should focus on enhancing the tourists’ sense of scene, immersion, and interactivity. The scenes and shows of anti-banditry stories should be carefully designed around the phrase of “Suppressing Bandits”, and the heroic stories of the People’s Liberation Army’s joint efforts with the people to fight against bandits and eliminate banditry should be vividly portrayed, allowing tourists to participate, experience, and remember revolutionary history. To tell good cultural stories, we need to deeply explore the cultural connotations of the Dayou Academy and the virtuous culture of good books, create cultural IP, and develop distinctive cultural products. To continuously optimize landscape and atmosphere creation, prominent signs should be set up at core check-in points to make it easy for tourists to see at a glance; The exhibition setting should highlight the elements of Chenxi, unify and coordinate its overall style, and enhance the vitality of local culture; Observing the landscape along the route requires changing scenery step by step and seeing the scenery everywhere, making the narrative of the scene coherent and natural. In addition, we must lay equal emphasis on construction and business models, encourage and guide more young managers and start-up teams to participate in business model design, investment and operation, so as to promote the sustainable development of cultural and tourism projects. What’s more, Wei stressed that we must strictly implement safety production responsibilities, strengthen safety management in key areas, comprehensively investigate and rectify risks and hidden dangers, and ensure the safety and orderliness of the conference. Last but not least, Wei added that we must adhere to the development of urban connotation, put in sufficient effort to promote urban renewal actions, strengthen the planning and construction of the "six networks", vigorously develop the night economy, and accelerate the construction of modern cities that are innovative, livable, beautiful, resilient, civilized, and intelligent.
