On the morning of September 11, reporters saw that the upgrading of drainage facilities and asphalt paving had been fully finished on North Jinxi Road (the section near the east gate of Jinxi Primary School), presenting a brand-new look.

The renovated North Jinxi Road boasts smooth and clean asphalt pavement with neatly arranged green plants on both sides, offering an open view for traffic. Electric bikes and motor vehicles travel in order, while shops along the street remain open for business. Many parents picking up children and local residents have praised the improvements brought by the road renovation. A parent told reporters that the road used to have ageing pipe networks and frequent pavement damage. Waterlogging would occur on rainy days, making school runs a hassle. Now the refurbished road ensures smooth and safe passage.

The project involves more than pavement renewal; it delivers a systematic upgrade of drainage capacity. Newly laid rainwater and sewage pipelines separate stormwater from wastewater. Rainwater flows into Taiping Creek, and sewage is channeled into the main sewage network, fundamentally easing waterlogging in the area.

Local merchants expressed delight, saying the upgraded road has solved the waterlogging issue and enabled smoother pedestrian and vehicle flow. Relevant authorities will conduct follow-up road maintenance to ensure this livelihood project delivers long-term benefits to teachers, students and nearby residents.
