On the afternoon of September 4, the 2026 Huaihua Cross-border E-commerce Industry Promotion and Supply-Demand Matchmaking Conference, a dedicated session of the 2026 Hunan (Changsha) Cross-border E-commerce Trade Fair, was held in the auxiliary events area on the first floor of the Hunan International Convention and Exhibition Center (Mango Pavilion). Under the theme “Huaihua Products Going Global”, the event brought together government authorities, cross-border e-commerce platforms, service providers, buyers from China and abroad, enterprises from Huaihua, and media representatives. Leveraging the province-wide trade fair as a platform, the session presented a full picture of the Huaihua International Land Port’s geographical advantages and the city’s distinctive industrial resources, opening up channels for supply-demand matchmaking and helping “Huaihua products” set sail for global markets.
The event was held under the guidance of the Department of Commerce of Hunan Province and hosted by the Huaihua Municipal Bureau of Commerce and the Administrative Committee of the Huaihua International Land Port Economic Development Zone, with the Hunan Cross-border E-commerce Association as the organizer. Officials from the Department of Commerce of Hunan Province, together with heads of the Huaihua Municipal Bureau of Commerce and the Huaihua International Land Port Economic Development Zone, attended the event. Representatives of cross-border e-commerce platforms such as Alibaba.com, service providers in logistics, payments, marketing and compliance, buyers from Europe, the United States, ASEAN, the Middle East and Africa, and enterprises from Huaihua’s key industry belts covering bags and leather goods, bamboo and wood products, green food, traditional Chinese medicine and electronic information, gathered to explore new opportunities in cross-border e-commerce.
During the event, the Huaihua Municipal Bureau of Commerce gave a presentation on Huaihua’s distinctive cross-border e-commerce industry belts, detailing the city’s strengths in bags and leather goods, bamboo and wood processing, green food and traditional Chinese medicine. It showcased the potential of Huaihua’s industrial supply chains and invited buyers and platform enterprises at home and abroad to tap into the going-global value of products made in Huaihua.
The Huaihua International Land Port Economic Development Zone then delivered an investment promotion presentation on the land port, covering core aspects such as the port’s advantages, supporting facilities in the zone, incentive policies and logistics channels. It showcased Huaihua’s solid opening-up strengths to platforms and buyers and welcomed all types of cross-border e-commerce players to settle in the land port and share in the dividends of inland opening-up.
The industry sharing session was packed with insights. Zhang Feng, Alibaba.com's Hunan partner, gave a keynote titled “AI-Empowered: Huaihua Products Going Global,” explaining how AI technology enables foreign trade enterprises in inland cities to cut costs and improve efficiency. Qing Feng, head of Taobao’s Going Global program in Central China, shared the platform’s support policies and seller growth paths under the theme “Going Global, Right Now on Taobao.” Yang Lixiang, general manager of Hunan Xiaotuantuan E-commerce Co., Ltd. and a representative of a key local enterprise in Huaihua, drew on his company’s hands-on experience to share practical insights into brand building and cross-border e-commerce operations, offering a valuable reference for local peers.
To wrap up the agenda, the guests toured the Huaihua Pavilion, where they took an up-close look at exhibits from the city’s enterprises producing bags and leather goods, bamboo and wood products, and agricultural specialties, and engaged in face-to-face exchanges and business talks, building a bridge for matchmaking between enterprises and buyers.
As a new frontier of inland opening-up, Huaihua operates the Huaihua International Land Port, its pivotal logistics hub, and has opened up major passages to the west and the south for global markets through corridors such as the China-Europe Railway Express and rail-sea intermodal services. Leveraging the broad platform of the 2026 Hunan (Changsha) Cross-border E-commerce Trade Fair, this dedicated session turned corridor advantages into competitive strength in foreign trade, further burnished the “Huaihua Products Going Global” brand and drew platforms, service providers and buyers to Huaihua. It will propel the development of enterprises producing bags and leather goods, bamboo and wood products, and green food, and support them to sell their products to global markets through cross-border e-commerce, injecting Huaihua’s strength into the development of Hunan as a highland of inland opening-up.
