To effectively prevent and mitigate safety problems of EV and resolutely address prominent issues including illegal modification, assembly and unauthorized fitting, the Chenxi County Administration for Market Regulation has strictly implemented superior work arrangements on fire safety governance. It has launched a special campaign targeting electric bicycles and electric motorcycles, enforced strict safety controls at the sales source, and strove to standardize operational order within the industry.

This special rectification campaign is carried out in accordance with national mandatory safety standards, featuring full-coverage inspections and rectification aiming at electric vehicle sales stores and maintenance outlets within the jurisdiction. Law-breaking acts under rigorous scrutiny include unauthorized modification of vehicle motors, controllers and storage batteries, speed-limit removal, illegal whole-vehicle assembly, as well as illegal installation of canopies and external circuit devices. Inspectors will verify the 3C certification and qualification certificates of all EVs, storage batteries and chargers on sale one by one, and severely crack down on irregular business activities such as the circulation of substandard products in the market.

Going forward, the administration will continue to consolidate the achievements of this special rectification. It will conduct regular inspections, random check-ups and follow-up reviews of rectification work, improve the long-term supervision mechanism for source control, further purify the electric vehicle market environment, and effectively safeguard residents’ travel safety.
