On August 6, the second preparatory work meeting for the 7th Huaihua Traditional Minority Sports Meeting was held to arrange key tasks for the next stage. Deputy Mayor Yu Jianyong attended the meeting.
Since the first preparatory meeting, encouraging headway has been made in all aspects of the work. A total of 1,164 participants from 13 delegations across the city have registered, including 916 athletes who have signed up to compete in 63 events across 11 categories. At the meeting, relevant municipal departments reported the specific plans on implementation in terms of venue support, competition organization, publicity, security, medical services, and transportation.
It is required in the meeting that the focus must be on key tasks which should be implemented with full efforts. We shall complete inspection and improvement of venue facilities to guarantee safe and reliable venues and equipment; the opening and closing ceremonies should be planned and organized meticulously to integrate ideological content, artistic quality and viewing appeal; the competitions are to be organized in a rigorous manner to ensure that the events are to be held in a fair, impartial, safe and orderly way; an athlete‑centered approach is to be adopted to deliver solid logistical support; a series of publicity are to be held to foster a strong social atmosphere of public concern for and support of the sports meeting; the security is to be shored up fully and potential risks are to be identified and eliminated, seeing to it that the sports meeting is to be held successfully. All relevant departments at all levels shall further strengthen organizational leadership, consolidate responsibilities, adopt list‑based management and meet set deadlines; coordination and interaction are to be enhanced to build concerted work synergy; strict competition ethics and discipline are to be upheld to deliver a safe, orderly, civilized and spectacular sports meeting to submit a satisfactory answer to the people across the city.
