    Gao conducts an investigation and research tour in selected counties, county-level cities, and districts

    Recently, Gao Jingsheng, deputy secretary of the CPC Huaihua Municipal Committee and acting mayor of the People’s Government of Huaihua City, conducted an investigation and research tour in Huaihua International Land Port Economic‑Technological Development Zone, Huaihua High‑Tech Zone, Tongdao, Jingzhou, Hongjiang City and Hongjiang District. He stressed the need to fully study and implement the important speeches and instructions by Xi Jinping on work related to Hunan, earnestly implement the decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council as well as the work requirements of the CPC Hunan Provincial  Committee, Hunan Provincial Government and CPC Huaiua Municipal Committee. We must firmly establish and practice a correct view on governance performance, adopt targeted policies to bolster the real economy based on local resource endowments and industrial foundations, strengthen industries with distinctive features, and sustain sound economic and social progress toward new, higher‑quality and better outcomes. Lin Hua, secretary-general of the Huaihua Municipal People’s Government, attended the tour.

    During the tour, Gao Jingsheng visited multiple sites, including the Intermodal Transport Center, Smart Cold Chain Logistics Center, Huaihua West Marshalling Yard, and Land Port Planning Exhibition Hall at the Huaihua International Land Port Economic Development Zone; Juntai Technology, Chenpeng Technology, Zhengqing Pharmaceutical, Sany Environment, and Hengfeng Food in the Huaihua High-tech Zone; the Tongdao Troop Turnaround Memorial Hall, Jingsheng Electronic Technology, and the Hunan Dong Ethnic Museum in Tongdao; Linggao New Materials and the Poria cocos TCM and health industry in Jingzhou; Xiaping Village in Anjiang Town, the Ecological Food Processing Industrial Park of the National Agricultural Science Park, the Anjiang Agricultural School Memorial Hall, and the Gaomiao Site Museum in Hongjiang City; and Hengguang Technology, Shuangyang High-tech, the Hongjiang Ancient Commercial City, and the nocturnal economy and the growth of new forms of tourism business in the Yanyu Hongjiang Street Area in Hongjiang District. At these sites, he gained a detailed understanding of the enterprises’ production and operation, workplace safety, environmental protection and rectification, as well as the integration of culture and tourism and rural revitalization. He also held separate symposiums with local officials.

    After hearing the reports on the economic and social development of the Huaihua International Land Port Economic Development Zone, the Huaihua Hightech Zone, and the relevant counties, county-level cities and districts, Gao Jingsheng made the following remarks. He pointed out that industry is the foundation of development. It is essential to seize the policy opportunities brought about by implementing major national strategies and building up security capacity in key areas as well as promoting equipment renewal and trade-in of consumer goods, build on comparative strengths to strengthen and expand leading and distinctive industries, promote “on-site doubling” of industrial output, and cultivate and expand the county-level economic strength through characteristic industries. He stressed the need to strengthen the enabling role of science and technology, accelerate the application and promotion of AI technologies, drive the high-end, intelligent, and eco-friendly transformation of industries, and continuously improve the overall efficiency of the industrial sector. He also emphasized the importance of integrating culture and tourism, making full use of unique culture and tourism resources such as the birthplace of hybrid rice, the Gaomiao culture, and the Hongjiang Ancient Commercial City, enriching the supply of nighttime consumption scenarios and new business formats, and steadily enhancing the competitiveness of the cultural tourism industry. Furthermore, he called for a balanced approach to development and security, with a sense of responsibility that “never lets us rest easy” to ensure solid work in workplace safety, flood control and drought relief, forest fire prevention and control, and other related areas, so as to effectively prevent and defuse various risks and hidden dangers, ensuring overall social stability and safety.
