On the morning of June 11, Wei Zhaohui, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee of Huaihua, presided over a symposium on developing the new energy and equipment industry chain. She emphasized the need to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and instructions regarding work in Hunan. She called for prioritizing the enhancement of the industry's intelligence, innovation, and green credentials, accelerating the formation of industrial clusters, and actively expanding into international markets, thereby injecting strong momentum into the city's high-quality development. Municipal leaders Li Weilin, Yin Peiguo, and Wang Haitao attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the development status of the new energy and equipment industry chain was reported. Executives from ten enterprises, including Hunan Litong Hengyu Cable Technology Co., Huaihua Dongfang Wind Power New Energy Co., Huaihua Chuangyu Technology Co., Hunan Jinwei New Material Technology Co., PowerChina (Chenxi) Energy Development Co., Tongdao Chiyuan New Energy Development Co., Huaihua Jiongcheng New Material Technology Co., Hunan Chaowei New Material Co., Hunan Yuxiling New Material Co., and Hunan Jinrui New Energy Technology Co., spoke about their current development status, future directions, and challenges, offering suggestions to drive industrial growth.
Wei Zhaohui noted that in recent years, the new energy and equipment industry chain has grown rapidly with strong momentum; however, sticky issues remain, such as low local supply chain integration, limited innovation support, insufficient industrial clustering, and limited penetration in international markets.
Wei Zhaohui emphasized the need to strengthen top-level design by segmenting industry tracks, markets, and business models to identify development paths that align with Huaihua’s unique strengths and characteristics. She called for promoting cluster development by focusing on creating platforms that facilitate the formation of complete industry chains and clusters, and by optimizing industrial support services, ensuring that enterprises can "come, stay, and grow". We must create comprehensive regional application scenarios by integrating enterprises within the industry chain to build showcase projects; explore operational models that feature new energy integration, AI empowerment, and high efficiency at low cost; and develop systematic projects that can be replicated and scaled up, she noted. We must actively "go global" to tap into new markets, seizing the significant opportunity presented by the explosive growth in exports of new energy products—such as wind power, photovoltaics, and energy storage—while fully leveraging open platforms like the Huaihua International Land Port and the Hunan (Huaihua) RCEP Economic and Trade Expo to accelerate expansion into markets in ASEAN, Central Asia, and Africa, she emphasized, adding that we must strengthen support for development by coordinating resources—including logistics, talent, policies, finance, and mechanisms for realizing the value of ecological products—to help enterprises operate with greater agility and accelerate their growth.
