Fight a resolute battle for concentrated rectification

On the afternoon of June 9, Wei Zhaohui, secretary of the Huaihua Municipal Party Committee, chaired a special meeting to hear a report on the city’s concentrated rectification of unhealthy tendencies and corruption issues affecting the people, and to study and arrange the next phase of work. She stressed the need to thoroughly study and implement the important instructions and directives of General Secretary Xi Jinping on rectifying unhealthy tendencies and corruption issues affecting the people, integrate the efforts with the campaign to establish and practice a correct understanding of governance performance, adopt extraordinary measures with unprecedented intensity, tackle problems head-on, resolutely fight a tough battle for concentrated rectification, and respond to the people’s concerns with solid results.
Wei pointed out that over the past two-plus years of the concentrated rectification of unhealthy tendencies and corruption issues affecting the people, all sectors across the city have thoroughly implemented the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the Provincial Party Committee. By focusing on key areas and taking targeted actions, we have achieved phased progress in the concentrated rectification campaign. Nevertheless, we must clearly recognize the prominent problems and shortcomings still existing in current work.We should further elevate our political stance, take the concentrated rectification as a top-priority and bounden task, and press ahead with unwavering efforts. We must tackle tough problems head-on and enforce rigorous rectification, so as to deliver comprehensive outcomes including improved work conduct, sound governance at the primary level, and tangible benefits for the people. We will strive to achieve substantial results for the whole year, and take concrete actions to fully understand the decisive significance of the Two Establishments and resolutely uphold the Two Upholds.
Wei stressed the need to prioritize case investigation as the most powerful form of supervision. It is imperative to conduct in-depth and thorough investigations into problems involving key targets, especially primary-level leading officials, and create a strong deterrent effect through high-pressure law enforcement.It is essential to further deepen special rectification efforts, strictly implement the working model featuring dual special teams composed of leading functional departments and dispatched discipline inspection and supervision groups, as well as dual measures of rectification and supervision. More forceful and practical measures shall be adopted to resolve fundamental problems and deliver tangible results, ensuring solid progress in special rectification.Great importance must be attached to establishing long-term and regular mechanisms. We will integrate immediate rectification with long-term institutional improvement, and combine symptom-solving efforts with root-cause governance. In-depth analysis of individual and typical cases will be carried out to improve mechanisms for power supervision and restriction, build a regular system for identifying and solving problems, consolidate rectification achievements, and promote long-term and sound grassroots governance.It is crucial to fully compact responsibilities. Party committees and governments at all levels in the city shall earnestly fulfill their primary responsibilities and take the lead in advancing work. Principal Party and government leading officials shall regularly review work progress, take charge of resolving difficult livelihood issues, and supervise the handling of letters and visits problems to ensure full transmission of responsibilities and pressure. Discipline inspection and supervision commissions at the municipal and county levels shall devote full efforts to advancing rectification work, while functional departments at all levels shall strengthen coordinated linkage, consistently implement work requirements, manage their own institutions, guide subordinate systems, and drive improvement at the grassroots level.
Attendees included representatives from Hecheng District, Xupu County, Xinhuang Dong Autonomous County, Zhongfang County, Zhijiang Dong Autonomous County, Tongdao Dong Autonomous County, as well as the Huaihua Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Huaihua Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau, Huaihua Municipal Medical Insurance Bureau and Huaihua Municipal Letters and Visits Bureau. They also delivered speeches.
