On the morning of June 27, Cao Jianhua, head of Hunan Provincial Sixth Ecological and Environmental Protection Inspection Team, led a team to Huitong County to inspect the work related to air pollution prevention and control, the ban on straw burning and comprehensive utilization, and biodiversity protection on the spot, emphasizing the need to thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping’s Thought on Ecological Civilization, conscientiously implement the decisions and requirements of “look-back” set forth by the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Hunan Province on carrying out the second round of Hunan provincial ecological and environmental protection inspections, and enhance people’s well-being while protecting ecological strengths, letting green waters and lush mountains truly become the “happy backers” for enriching the people and strengthening the County.
During his inspection tour in Xinlong Bamboo Industry Co., Ltd. and Hunan Yitu Bamboo Industry Co., Ltd. in Huitong County, Cao Jianhua examined the flue gas collection, treatment, and dust control practices at the bamboo charcoal plants. He required that the resumption acceptance procedures be rigorously carried out, and that production should only resume after the dust collection and flue gas treatment facilities are confirmed to be functioning properly, explicitly forbidding any “sick” resumption—i.e., resuming operations while outstanding problems remain.
At the FiveVillage Joint Innovation Demonstration Base in Baozi Town, Cao Jianhua inspected the work on banning and restricting straw burning as well as the comprehensive utilization of straw. He affirmed the practice of combining “prohibition” with “utilization” and turning waste into treasure, and urged continued efforts to deepen the comprehensive utilization of straw, fully leveraging the demonstration effect of the “feedbased and industrial processing” model, so that the “ecological burden” can truly be transformed into “green wealth”.
At the Shennong Herbal Garden in Lianshan Township, Cao Jianhua learned about the biodiversity conservation and approve the “three-dimensional symbiosis” model, which achieves a winwin outcome for both ecological protection and industrial development. He urged that this model be further explored and refined, that the efforts for scientific research be intensified, and that the diversified transformation of ecological product values be promoted, so as to convert the the local resource and ecological strengths into the strengths of development.
During the inspection, Cao Jianhua pointed out that ecological strengths in Huitong Countyre present a highly valuable “gold signboard”. He emphasized that ecological priority should be elevated to an even more prominent position, with coordinated efforts to advance air pollution prevention and control, comprehensive utilization of straw, and biodiversity conservation. He urged an unswerving commitment to the path of ecological priority and green development, so that the people can share the ecological dividends and gain more tangible benefits from green development, and so that the achievements of advancing ecological progress become visible, tangible, and long-lasting.
