On the morning of June 17, Wei Zhaohui, secretary of the Huaihua Municipal Party Committee, presided over an expanded meeting of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and a group study session of the Theoretical Learning Center Group of the Municipal Party Committee. The participants thoroughly studied and deeply comprehended the theories and practices developed by Xi Jinping during his work in Zhejiang and other locations on establishing and practicing a sound view of political performance, as well as Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization. The meeting aimed to effectively forestall and rectify deviations in the view of political performance, firmly foster the development philosophy that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets, and steer high-quality development with a sound view of political performance. He Zunqing, deputy secretary of the Huaihua Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Huaihua Municipal Party Committee Political and Legal Affairs Commission, and Li Wanqian, director of the Standing Committee of the Huaihua Municipal People's Congress, delivered exchange speeches at the meeting.

The meeting pointed out that during his work in Zhejiang and other localities, President Xi has always upheld a sound view of political performance to conduct himself, pursue his career, plan and deliver results, setting a shining example for the whole Party. The concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" he put forward constitutes the core tenet of Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization.

Party members and officials at all levels across the city must integrate and thoroughly study and comprehend General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on fostering and practicing a sound view of political performance delivered during his work in Zhejiang and other regions as well as since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. They must strive to deliver political achievements for the people and through solid work, and take concrete actions to deeply understand the decisive significance of the Two Establishments and resolutely uphold the Two Maintenances.

We must thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, fully shoulder the political responsibility for ecological and environmental protection, take the provincial ecological and environmental protection inspection review as an opportunity, conduct ecological and environmental protection work in a down-to-earth and meticulous manner, and effectively raise the green, innovation and economic value of development.

The meeting also stressed that all civil servants must always take a holistic perspective, plan and advance work in their respective regions and departments from a political and overall standpoint, be adept at examining and measuring work measures against political criteria, and fully implement the decisions and arrangements of higher authorities without any compromise.

We must stay committed to persistent efforts over the long haul. Focused on the overarching goal of building a regional central city at the border of five provinces, we will maintain strategic resolve, strengthen strategic implementation, and forge ahead toward set targets in a down-to-earth manner step by step.

We must always adhere to seeking truth from facts. We will take investigation and research as the foundation for planning work and the path to delivering results, establish and improve sound scientific decision-making mechanisms, and strive to take the lead in all undertakings.

We must always commit ourselves to delivering benefits to the people, put into practice the people-centered development philosophy, carry out intensive governance of letters and visits concerning people’s livelihood issues, resolve conflicts and disputes with empathy and a strong sense of responsibility, and steadily raise people’s sense of gain, happiness and security.

We must consistently strengthen Party self-governance. We will coordinate work on personnel selection and appointment, assessment and evaluation, primary-level Party building, and Party conduct and integrity development, and continuously advance full and strict governance over the Party to greater depths.

We must unswervingly pursue green development. We will earnestly advance the Summer Campaign for the tough battle against pollution, ecological protection and restoration, and the realization of the value of ecological products, and take resolute and forceful action to fully and thoroughly rectify all ecological and environmental problems.

We will strengthen the delivery of responsibilities, rectification and remediation, and overall coordination, and promote in-depth and solid progress in study and education with higher standards, greater intensity and more concrete measures.
