On May 1, China Supply and Marketing Huaihua Agriculture, Rural Areas & Farmers Industrial Park officially opened, marking a new stage of full operation for the project. As one of the three core industrial parks of Huaihua International Land Port and the largest investment project of China Supply and Marketing Group in southwest China, the opening of the park not only represents a crucial step for Huaihua in shifting from “corridor economy” to “hub economy”, but also strongly boosts the access of high-quality agricultural products from the Wuling Mountain area to national and ASEAN markets, injecting strong impetus into building a modern circulation system and serving the national dual-circulation strategy.
Covering an area of 839 mu with a total investment of 2.2 billion yuan, the project plans to build eight functional centers: agricultural products trading center, agricultural means of production trading center, agricultural machinery and tools trading center, e-commerce center, warehousing and logistics center, agricultural means of production cloud warehouse center, cold chain center, and green agricultural products processing center. Positioned as a pivotal commercial and logistics hub based on the Wuling Mountain Economic Cooperation Zone, radiating nationwide, relying on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor in the western region, and connecting ASEAN and Southeast Asia, the park integrates exhibition and sales, online and offline transactions, warehousing and processing, logistics and distribution, and foreign trade services, striving to build a full-chain, one-stop service platform for agriculture, rural areas and farmers.
Huaihua boasts abundant products and rich agricultural resources. However, the fresh produce industry has long been plagued by insufficient cold chain facilities, fragmented circulation, disconnected production and marketing, and high distribution costs. The completion of China Supply and Marketing Huaihua Agriculture, Rural Areas & Farmers Industrial Park is a key measure to solve these problems. Leveraging the park’s centralized procurement and distribution functions and the rail-sea intermodal transport advantages of Huaihua International Land Port, the park will directly connect with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and radiate the ASEAN market. On the one hand, it will open up the channel for “agricultural products to go upstream”, enabling “Huaihua specialties” to step out of the mountains and go global; on the other hand, it will smooth the channel for “industrial products to go downstream”, facilitating the access of high-quality international agricultural means of production to domestic agricultural production, truly realizing two-way circulation and win-win cooperation.
The park not only focuses on industrial development but also shoulders the important task of ensuring people’s livelihood supply. Relying on Huaihua’s unique geographical advantages and people’s livelihood needs, the park will be built into an important regional base for ensuring people’s livelihood supply and an agricultural products distribution hub. It serves industrial development and improves quality and efficiency in normal times, and provides emergency support and safeguards people’s livelihood in critical times, achieving “dual-use for normal and emergency times, benefiting farmers and the people”.
China Supply and Marketing Huaihua Agriculture, Rural Areas & Farmers Industrial Park is committed to building a comprehensive full-industry-chain platform integrating agricultural products trading, warehousing and logistics, processing and distribution, digital services, and exhibition and sales, as well as a key supply guarantee base for both normal and emergency use.
