On the morning of April 24, Xu Zhongjian, secretary of the CPC Huaihua Municipal Committee, presided over a special coordination meeting on sustaining the achievements of the Hunan Tourism Development Conference and cultural and tourism work for the May Day holiday. He emphasized the need to thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Culture and Xi’s important expositions on tourism development, earnestly implement the arrangements and requirements of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the provincial government, highlight unique strengths, focus on key priorities, fully consolidate and expand the achievements of the Hunan Tourism Development Conference, and strive to build an eco-tourism city. Wei Zhaohui, deputy secretary of the CPC Huaihua Municipal Committee and mayor of Huaihua, attended the meeting.
After listening to relevant work reports and deliberating on specific issues, Xu pointed out that Huaihua boasts a profound historical and cultural heritage, beautiful natural landscapes, and distinct advantages as a transportation hub. In recent years, especially since hosting the Fifth Hunan Tourism Development Conference last year, all departments at all levels across the city have seized opportunities and worked diligently, developing a distinctive, diversified and comprehensive tourism product system. The reputation and prestige of “Blessed Land Huaihua” have been significantly enhanced. We must maintain confidence, make persistent efforts, and steadily promote the high-quality development of the cultural and tourism industry.
Xu stressed the need to highlight unique strengths, deepen the integration of culture and tourism, focus on creating new immersive experience scenarios, enrich business formats, and extend the ecological chain of tourism products. This will encourage tourists to slow down, stay longer, and gain emotional resonance and value recognition through immersive, interactive and emotional experiences, stimulating new consumption hotspots. We must address shortcomings and weaknesses, carefully identify and resolve problems in the development of the cultural and tourism industry. In particular, we must strictly implement tourist-friendly policies and measures, comprehensively improve service capabilities and quality to meet the diverse and personalized needs of tourists, and continuously enhance the brand of “Blessed Land Huaihua, Understanding You Like Family”. We must strengthen project support, always adhere to market-oriented operation and operation-first principles, strengthen factor guarantees, and steadily advance the construction of key cultural and tourism projects. We must hold fast to the bottom line of safety, strengthen tourism safety management and market regulation, and conduct effective online publicity and guidance. We must enhance organizational guarantees, uphold leadership by example, strengthen coordination and collaboration, and gather strong synergy to drive the high-quality development of the cultural and tourism industry.
Wei noted that we must tell compelling stories to maximize the value of cultural and tourism resources. We must expand the development framework and strengthen regional tourism cooperation. We must pre-arrange experience scenarios to foster a strong atmosphere of emotional consumption. We must enrich product supply to better stimulate and meet consumption demands. We must uphold “Understanding You Like Family” to ensure tourists enjoy smooth, comfortable and reassuring travels in Huaihua. We must leverage local resources to achieve synergistic effects through the integration of tourism and industries. We must conduct diversified promotion to maintain sustained topic popularity and momentum.
