Strive for new progress in the work of FICC

The 7th Member Congress of Federation of Industry and Commerce Congress(FICC)of Huaihua Municipal Government convened on the morning of May 27. Wei Zhaohui, secretary of the Huaihua Municipal Party Committee, and Chen Xilin, member of the Party Leadership Group and secretary-general of the Hunan Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Li Wanqian, director of the Standing Committee of the Huaihua Municipal People's Congress, was also present.

Wei pointed out that since Huaihua’s 6th Member Congress of FICC, the federation has thoroughly studied and implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on the high-quality development of the private economy and the work of federations of industry and commerce. Closely focusing on the work theme of "two healthy developments"—the healthy development of the non-public economy and the healthy growth of people in the non-public sector—it has fully played its role as a bridge, link, advisor and assistant, making important contributions to the high-quality economic and social development of the city.

Wei also stressed that efforts should be continuously made to rally strength for forging ahead. It is necessary to further build consensus on ideology, action and accountability, and guide people in the private sector to set good examples in patriotism, dedication, law-abiding operation, entrepreneurship, innovation and social responsibility.We must keep serving the overall interests of the city. We will focus on investment promotion to attract more enterprises, projects and funds to settle in Huaihua. We will encourage participation in political affairs and deliberation to put forward more valuable and insightful suggestions. We will step up efforts to serve the community and play a greater role in rural revitalization, improvement of people's livelihood, and job stability and expansion.We shall wholeheartedly serve enterprises. We should work as thoughtful partners, responding promptly to enterprises' demands while refraining from unnecessary interference. We should act as caring supporters, doing everything possible to help enterprises solve difficulties. We should also serve as guardians, and strive to foster a first-class business environment that is market-oriented, law-based and internationalized.We will continue to strengthen self-development by improving the leading group, membership team and grassroots organizations, and strive to build Huaihua into a home for people from the private sector.

Wei then pointed out that Party committees at all levels across the city should strengthen and improve leadership over the work of federations of industry and commerce. United front departments at all levels need to enhance coordination and guidance, and relevant departments should strengthen communication and collaboration. All sides shall support federations of industry and commerce in performing their duties in accordance with laws and articles of association, so as to provide a solid guarantee for the sound development of their undertakings in the city.

On behalf of the Hunan Provincial FICC, Chen extended congratulations on the convening of the conference. He expressed the hope that the new leading group of FICC  in Huaihua  will uphold political guidance and strengthen ideological leadership to broadly build unified political consensus. It should prioritize service to invigorate the organization, focus on the overall work priorities, and demonstrate the responsibility of private enterprises in driving high-quality development. It shall also consolidate foundations and build a competent team to fully shore up the foundation for the work of the federation.

Leaders of the Huaihua Municipal Government including Peng Xiandan, Li Weilin, Yin Peiguo and Wang Yong attended the meeting. On behalf of municipal committees of all democratic parties and people's organizations, Wang Yong delivered a congratulatory address. Wu Qingchun, chairman of the 6th FICC, presented the work report of the 6th Executive Committee. The congress elected the 7th Executive Committee, Standing Committee and leading group of FICC.
