In 2025, Huaihua, aiming to "build a first-class national tourist resort destination”, successfully hosted the 5th Hunan Tourism Development Conference, promoting the city's transformation from a "transit point" to a "destination". The city received 72.24 million tourists throughout the year, achieving a total tourism expenditure of 68.578 billion yuan, demonstrating significant achievements in the development of the cultural and tourism industry.
Hu Chen emphasized the need to thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on tourism work and continue to focus on the "Follow-up" of the Tourism Development Conference. We must revitalize existing resources, optimize industrial growth, unleash consumption potential, and improve service experiences to enhance the "Home-like Service" brand, he said, adding that we must fully integrate into the construction of the Greater Zhangjiajie International Tourism Zone, focusing on building the Xuefeng Mountain cultural tourism and health care growth pole, promoting interconnectivity, enriching cultural tourism products, and strengthening marketing collaboration to jointly build a new integrated pattern. We must strive to create tourism-oriented counties with distinctive cultural tourism features, constructing a differentiated cultural tourism brand matrix, strengthening project support and industrial integration, enhancing regional collaboration, and strengthening talent attraction and development to accelerate the construction of a first-class national tourist resort destination, Hu noted. At the same time, we must closely monitor safety during the May Day holiday and the flood season, and strengthen the cultural tourism safety defense line, he added.
