On April 6, Wei Zhaohui, deputy secretary of Huaihua Municipal Party Committee and mayor of Huaihua Municipal Government, inspected safe production and ecological environment protection in Hecheng District and Zhongfang County. During the inspection, she emphasized the need to thoroughly study and implement general secretary Xi Jinping's ecological civilization thought and his important discussions on safe production, firmly uphold the concepts of safe development and green development, take proactive measures in flood prevention, rigorously address and implement corrective actions for all issues, and effectively safeguard the bottom line of safe production and ecological environment protection. Lin Hua, secretary-general of Huaihua Municipal Government, attended the inspection.
At the Municipal Flood and Drought Disaster Prevention Center, Wei conducted a detailed inspection of the shift arrangement and reserves for flood prevention materials. She stressed the need to strictly and practically carry out shift arrangement in flood season, ensuring early detection, reporting, and disposal of potential flood, strictly implement the requirements for the reserves of flood prevention materials, conduct regular inventory checks and timely fill in shortage of related materials, so as to build a strong safety barrier for flood prevention
The problem of road waterlogging has long plagued citizens on the section from Zhangjiawan Bridge to the Huaihua West Expressway Entrance on the West Ring Road in the urban area. During her on-site inspection of the improvement of the drainage system, Wei requested that effective measures be taken to promote the rectification of drainage projects and eliminate the hidden dangers of water accumulation as soon as possible, so as to effectively maintain smooth road traffic and safe travel of the public.
At Zhulinping Reservoir in Yinjialing Village, Liangtingao Township, Hecheng District, Wei conducted a detailed inspection of flood prevention and safety hazard rectification. She pointed out that it is necessary to strengthen the daily safety monitoring of dams, improve the level of reservoir safety management, and resolutely safeguard the safety line of flood prevention. She added that attention should be paid to standardize the daily control of civilian ships, strengthen guidance on the safety of people's travel in the reservoir area, build a strong defense line for water safety, strictly implement chief checking system for the potential risks of rivers and lakes, implement daily management and maintenance of reservoirs, timely clean up gravel and debris in the reservoir area, and improve environmental hygiene.
In March of this year, a citizen reported through the 12345 government service hotline that the Taiping River tributary near the Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau was emitting a strange odor due to blocked sewage pipes. At the bank of the tributary, Wei requested that relevant departments closely monitor the time of the problem, optimize construction organization, and accelerate the project progress while ensuring safety and quality, in order to quickly solve the problem of water pollution.
At Longsheng Paper Industry Co., Ltd in Huaqiao Town, Zhongfang County, Wei had an on-site inspection of the rectification of sewage discharge issues. She underscored the need to take effective measures to thoroughly solve the problem of enterprise’ sewage discharge, respond to public concerns with practical actions, and at the same time, relevant departments should quickly conduct comprehensive assessments of the safety production hazards existing in enterprises, dispose of the problems in accordance with laws and regulations, and effectively safeguard the bottom line of ecological environment protection and safety production.
At Hunan Provincial Emergency Rescue Center, Huaihua Branch, Wei conducted a detailed inspection of the reserve of flood prevention materials. She pointed out that it is necessary to fully leverage the role of the Hunan Provincial Emergency Rescue Center, Huaihua Branch, improve the emergency linkage mechanism with surrounding cities and prefectures inside and outside the province to achieve cross regional collaborative rescue. In addition, efforts should be made to take regular training and drills of rescue operation, and help grassroots improve their emergency response capabilities.
