On April 2, a city-wide on-site promotion meeting for the development of the TCM industry was held in Anjiang Town of Hongjiang City. He Zunqing, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee of Huaihua, Secretary of the Municipal Political and Legal Committee of Huaihua, and head of the city's TCM industry chain, attended and delivered a speech. He emphasized the need to seize development opportunities, strive to learn from and surpass others, and promote the TCM industry's success with a correct view of performance, striving to build a "Southern China TCM Valley" and an "ASEAN-oriented TCM distribution and trading center".
The meeting pointed out that by 2025, the comprehensive output value of the city's entire TCM industry chain will reach 34.26 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27.8%. Significant achievements have been made in ecological planting, investment promotion, cultivation of superior enterprises, scientific research, and brand building, thus laying a solid foundation for a confident start and a successful overall victory.
The meeting emphasized the need to focus on key areas and overcome difficulties with a correct view of performance. The meeting called for maintaining the focus and continuing to expand the city’s advantageous single products, adhering to the principle of "one product, one chain; one county, one product; multiple counties, one cluster", with a focus on cultivating potential varieties such as Gastrodia elata and Epimedium, and promoting the cross-county cluster development of advantageous single products such as Polygonatum sibiricum and Poria cocos. The meeting also called for concentrating efforts on continuously strengthening internal cultivation and attracting external investment, nurturing and strengthening local enterprises, attracting investment precisely and effectively, and accelerating project construction. The meeting urged that Huaihua should tap into its potential and continuously amplifying the advantages of our production areas, persisting in improving seed breeding and ecological planting, and promoting the construction of GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) bases for Chinese medicinal herbs. The meeting also urged that Huaihua should enhance its capabilities and continuously expand distribution and sales, vigorously promoting the construction of single-product distribution market clusters and "customized medicinal gardens," and accelerating the export of Huai medicine. The meeting also called for focusing on the city’s appeal and continuously expand local brands’ influence, adhering to the linkage of medicine, food, and tourism to enhance the brand, strengthening the brand through technological innovation, and promoting and showcasing the brand. Meanwhile, the municipal government is supposed to ensure strong support for progress, strive for excellence, maintain high-level promotion, strengthen resource guarantees, enhance financial support, effectively manage the "three lists" (list of government initiatives), and supervise and evaluate their effectiveness, creating a strong atmosphere of learning from and surpassing each other.
At the meeting, representatives from Jingzhou County, Xinhuang County, Hongjiang City, the Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Municipal Forestry Bureau, and Guoling Technology Co. delivered speeches. Huaihua High-tech Zone promoted its "Southern China Traditional Chinese Medicine Valley" health and pharmaceutical industrial park. Wu Xianjin, president of the Huaihua Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry Association, gave a special lecture on the changes and implications of TCM policies. Prior to the meeting, attendees visited the Fuche Huangjing GAP base, the Xuefeng Tianma distribution center, and the Tianma processing plant.
