On the afternoon of March 3, Xu Zhongjian, secretary of the Huaihua Municipal Party Committee and leader of the Huaihua Municipal Party Committee’s United Front Work Leading Group, presided over a plenary meeting of the leading group. The meeting focused on thoroughly studying and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important thoughts on strengthening the Party’s united front work in the new era, conveying and studying the spirit of relevant meetings held by the central and provincial committees. Xu listened to relevant reports, reviewing related documents, and discussing and planning the city’s united front work for 2026. He Zunqing, deputy secretary of the Huaihua Municipal Party Committee, secretary of the Huaihua Municipal Political and Legal Affairs Commission, and deputy Leader of the Huaihua Municipal Party Committee’s United Front Work Leading Group, attended the meeting.
Xu pointed out that over the past year, the city’s united front has earnestly implemented the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee as well as the deployment requirements of the provincial and municipal committees. It has firmly embraced the theme of great unity and solidarity, adhered to the overarching framework of the united front work, and steadily advanced all aspects of united front efforts, achieving new results and breakthroughs. This has united hearts and pooled strength for the city’s high-quality development. At the same time, it is essential to clearly recognize the existing problems and shortcomings in the work. All departments and units at all levels in the city must thoroughly study and comprehend General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important thoughts on strengthening the Party’s united front work in the new era, firmly grasp the correct political direction of united front work, effectively enhance political, ideological, and action-oriented consciousness in carrying out united front work, deeply implement the responsibility system for united front work, and promote the improvement of quality and efficiency in the city’s united front endeavors.
Xu emphasized the need to effectively strengthen ideological and political guidance, improve the system and long-term mechanism for ideological and political work in the united front sphere, and continuously expand the mainstream influence of the united front. It is essential to solidly advance ethnic work in the new era, consolidate the achievements in establishing the city as a national demonstration area for ethnic unity and progress, thoroughly implement the "three plans" for ethnic work, and tangibly, perceptibly, and effectively foster a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation. Efforts should be made to deepen the legal governance of religious affairs, ensuring harmony and stability in the religious field. Focus should be placed on strengthening united front work in the private economy, building a high-caliber team of representatives from the private sector, earnestly carrying out the "Enterprise Service Year" initiative, persistently advancing the "six ones" work for private economic development, and going all out to promote the growth and expansion of the private economy. The Party’s overall leadership over united front work must be enhanced, responsibility implementation strengthened, the united front team fortified, and the grassroots foundation consolidated, continuously solidifying and improving the overarching framework of the united front to pool powerful synergy.
